Lentils in a Creamy Sauce

Ingredients:

8oz/200g brown lentils
1 onion
2oz/50 g butter
1 tbsp breadcrumbs
8fl oz/200g soured cream
1 large bunch of chives
salt
freshly ground pepper
grated nutmeg
vinegar
Cooking time about1 1/2 hours
Approx 400 kcal = 1674 kj


Preparation:

Soak the lentils, then pour them into the moistened RÖMERTOPF, together with the liquid they have been soaking in. Close the lid. After 1 hour, dice the onion and fry briefly in a little butter, add to the lentils. Mix the soured cream, breadcrumbs and chives and carefully stir into the lentils. Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg and a little vinegar.
