Dried Peas with Ham

Ingredients:

8 oz/200 g dried green peas
1/2 pint/250 ml strong instant stock
1 large onion
8 oz/200 g ham
2 oz/50 g unsalted butter
Cooking time about 1 hour
Soak peas for 10 hours in advance
Approx. 400 kcal = 1674 kj

Preparation:

Soak the peas for 10 hours, then drain. Cut the ham into strips; dice the onion. Put the peas in the moistened RÖMERTOPF, together with the onion, ham, stock and half of the butter. Close the lid. Just before serving, add the remaining butter and adjust the seasoning.
