Dried white beans

Ingredients:

8oz/200 g dried white beans
8oz/200 g smoked belly óf porc or streaky bacon
2 onions
2 cloves of garlic
2 tbsp. olive oil
8oz/200 g tomatoes
a pinch of sage
1/2 punch parsley
salt
freshly ground pepper
16fl oz/500 ml white wine
Cooking time about 2 1/2 hours at 180°C (350°F, gas mark 4)
Soak the beans for about 10 hours in advance.
Approx. 500 kcal = 2300 kj


Preparation:

Soak the beans for 10 hours, then place them in the moistened RÖMERTOPF. Dice the belly of porc or the bacon coarsley, chop the onion and the garlic roughly, add to the beans, together with all other ingredients. Close the lid.
