Spicy White Beans

Ingredients:

80 oz/200 g dried white beans
1 large green pepper
1 onion
1 small chilli pepper
2 cloves of garlic
1 tbsp- pork dripping
1/2 pint/250 ml strong instant stock
salt
mild paprika powder
Cooking time about 2 1/2 hours
Soak dried bens for 10 hours in advance.
Approx. 250 kcal = 1046 kj


Preparation:

Soak the dried bens for 10 hours, then pour them inti the moistened RÖMERTOPF, together with the water they have been soaking in. Prepare the green pepper and the chilli pepper and add to the beans. Crush the garlic, mix with the stock and pour over the beans. Close the lid. When the beans are cooked, season them with salt and the paprika powder. Cut onions into fine rings and fry them in the hot dripping until brown. Sprinkle over the beans before serving.
